The Pilfered Diaries

When a thinker finds lost words, stories happen…

Before the Spring Dawn

1–2 minutes

Just before the dawn of a spring morning, there is a sliver of a moment. In that little fleeting fragment of time, when everything is present; yet nothing is visible, I think of you.

I think of you, as the first little cracks of flower buds release their shy scents. As if they want to declare their colourful aromas yet challenge you to find them in a land full of green about to wake up.

I think of you as the gentle breeze of the night begins to leave, caressing the fallen leaves as they whisper goodbyes of their own for all the trees to remember them.

I think of you in the confident melodies of robins, and larks, and mynahs, who seem to sing not for the spring and their mates but for you to listen to my quiet heart.

I think of you, as another of my golden dreams wither away all of a sudden, leaving that bittersweet sense of losing a mirage of happiness and acquiring real hope.

I think of you, the sun shines bright, and that moment…

It goes away.

Author’s Note:

Hello everyone to 2025. I am quite hopeful of this year in terms of my journey on The Pilfered Diaries in this year. I want to find new people who love noticing the little things in life just as much as I do. And so, I thought to start with this one, a spring-time romance post. I’m really looking forward to engage with you all and would love your thoughts on this composition.
