The Pilfered Diaries

When a thinker finds lost words, stories happen…

Just for Living’s Sake.

1–2 minutes
Wondering turned to craving,
Until it became a yearning,
I waited patiently a long time,
Chasing an elusive morning.

I remember still, that dark time,
When all seemed utterly lost.
The garden of my heart barren,
And buds swallowed in frost.

I prayed to be set free,
Of the shackles of solitude.
I talked with you in verses,
Half-baked, uncertain and crude.

Your lips broke into the smile,
Like the crack of dawn.
Songbirds soared in the sky,
A new day was born.

My nightmares became daydreams,
When you tapped me awake,
And I wanted to live once more,
Just for living’s sake.
