Before I got my hands on a real DSLR camera, I used to click pictures with a camera I borrowed from my friend. It was a basic entry-level point-and-shoot camera from Nikon called Coolpix L340. Its unique selling proposition was its extreme zoom range. For quality, it was decent, but once I experienced the real sound of a shutter, I realized it never was real enough.
Yet, I stuck with it for over a year, frequently keeping it at my place instead of my friend’s. And since it was mostly at arm’s reach, I managed to not miss many interesting moments. Like this afternoon, on the 6th of February, 2016. I lived in the hostel on my college campus. When I woke up from my afternoon nap that day — yes, I used to take those back then — and looked out the window, I saw this. The sky seemed to be made of glowing embers, aflame.

I pulled out the camera from the cupboard, and clicked a few right from my window. Of course, that wasn’t enough. I went out and roamed the entire campus. I clicked about fifty pictures that afternoon, and these are some of my favorites.
