When a thinker finds lost words, stories happen…

Egret

1–2 minutes

From Wikipedia: Egrets are herons, generally long-legged wading birds, that have white or buff plumage, developing fine plumes (usually milky white) during the breeding season. Egrets are not a biologically distinct group from herons and have the same build.

This set of images was taken on August 26, 2020 in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was a time when I had just started experimenting with my zoom lens, and was developing an inclination for wildlife photography. Especially birds.

The fact that it was a time when large birds like these could be seen soaring in the skies around my hometown helped fuel that excitement and curiosity.

That particular morning, I had woken up early especially to go to the little forest-like area near my residence where these birds could be seen in great numbers to maximize my chances of capturing something interesting.

This particular bird was flying not so high, and I trained my camera to the maximum zoom that it would go to and clicked away.

I had taken a lot more pictures that day of similar and different birds, but those are for another post. So, stay tuned, and subscribe to not miss when I post them.
